first aid training courses

The launching of the new Occupational First Aid Assessment Agent on 1st June 2008 introduces a number of changes from the Health and Safety Authority. The main headlines are:

Introduction of a new Occupational First Aid Standard from 1st September – Fetac Level 5 OFA Standard
Maximum No. of persons undergoing instruction – 8 to an instructor from 1st September.
Refresher for First Aiders – one day every 2 years from 1st September.
From 1st June, introduction of a new Fetac Level 6 OFA Instruction Standard
New standard for Instructors in CFR.
Refreshers for CFR Instructor standard every 2 years.
Re-assessment of OFA Instructors – every 5 years
Level 5 Fetac certification available after 1 day OFA Refresher from 1st September
