Occupational First Aid Assessment Agent (www.ofaaa.ie)

Heartbeat Safety have become the first company to register with the new Occupational First Aid Assessment Agent (Ofaaa), we are now a recognised body under the Safety, Health & Welfare (General Application) Regulations 2007 to provide Occupational First Aid Training.

The Occupational First Aid Assessment Agent (OFAAA)was appointed by the Health and Safety Authority to carry out the assessment and registration of Occupational First Aid training providers.

Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (www.phecc.ie)

Heartbeat Safety have approved their assessment policies and procedures with Phecc and are now a Recognised Institution approved to teach Cardiac First Responder / Practitioner & CFR Instructor Courses.

The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) is the Irish EMS regulator. The Council is an independent statutory agency with responsibility for standards, education and training in the field of pre-hospital emergency care. PHECC also maintain a statutory register of pre-hospital emergency care practitioners.

Irish Heart Foundation / American Heart Association (www.irishheart.ie)

Heartbeat Safety are an accredited training site with the IHF / AHA to provide all of their BLS Heartsaver training courses.

The Irish Heart Foundation is Ireland's only national charity for heart health and is working to reduce premature death and disability from heart disease and stroke. The Irish Heart FoundationProvides information on heart health to the public and media;Supports patients in managing heart disease and stroke;Provides heart health programmes in schools and workplaces;Co-ordinates the training of medics and the public in emergency lifesaving skills (CPR);Supports research, education and development in the medical profession andLobbies for patient treatment and services, as well as for an environment to make the healthier choice the easier choice.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (www.aaos.org)

Founded in 1933, the Academy is the preeminent provider of musculoskeletal education to orthopaedic surgeons and others in the world. Its continuing medical education activities include a world-renowned Annual Meeting, multiple CME courses held around the country and at the Orthopaedic Learning Center, and various medical and scientific publications and electronic media materials.

FETAC - Further Education and Training Awards Council (www.fetac.ie)

Heartbeat Safety have approved their quality assurance system with FETAC since October 2006. This means that we can now provide a number Fetac approved courses, namely the Certificate in Safety and Health at Work and the Occupational First Aid.

As the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland, the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) gives people the opportunity to gain recognition for learning in education or training centres, in the work place and in the community.

FETAC was set up as a statutory body on 11 June 2001 by the Minister for Education and Science under the Qualifications (Education & Training) Act, 1999. FETAC has responsibility for making awards previously made by BIM, FAilte Ireland (CERT), FAS, NCVA and Teagasc and has made over 170,000 awards to date.

FETAC's mission is to make quality assured awards in accordance with national standards within the national framework, creating opportunities for all learners in further education and training to have their achievements recognised and providing access to systematic progression pathways.

FAS / Enterprise Ireland - National Register of Trainers (www.fas.ie)

FAS and Enterprise Ireland have jointly created a National Register of Trainers in order to list qualified and approved training providers.

Heartbeat are registered under the National Register of Trainers numbered 901474 and are also approved under the Fas One Step Up Programme for Fas Funding to run a number of our training courses around the country.

FAS is committed to a systematic approach to the development, delivery and review of its training provision in accordance with the FAS Quality Assurance Training and Assessment Series. The purpose of FAS training is to address labour market requirements, social cohesion and economic competitiveness at a national, geographical, sectoral, organisational and individual level.

IOSH - Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (www.iosh.co.uk)

IOSH is Europe's leading body for health and safety professionals.They have nearly 30,000 members worldwide, including more than 8,000 Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners. The Institution was founded in 1945 and is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that sets professional standards, supports and develops members and provides authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety issues. IOSH is formally recognised by the ILO as an international non-governmental organisation.

CIEH - Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (www.cieh.org.uk)

Heartbeat Safety are an approved CIEH training centre and are approved to run a number of their training programmes, click here for more details. The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is at the forefront of environmental and public health.

As a professional body, they set standards and accredit courses and qualifications for the education of their professional members and other environmental health practitioners.

As a knowledge centre, they provide information to local environmental and public health practitioners, industry and other stakeholders. They publish books and magazines, run educational events and commission research.

As an awarding body, they provide qualificaions, events, and trainer and candidate support materials on topics relevant to health, wellbeing and safety to develop workplace skills and best practice in volunteers, employees, business managers and business owners.

NISO - National Irish Safety Organisation (www.niso.ie)

Heartbeat Safety are active members of NISO.

The National Irish Safety Organisation, is a voluntary body dedicated to the promotion of Health and Safety in Irish workplaces. NISO aims to promote measures designed to safeguard persons at work against occupational dangers to life, limb and health which in turn promotes safety, health and welfare in the workplace.

Founded in 1963 and organised on a regional basis with its head office based in Dublin, NISO has the support of the Health and Safety Authority, Irish Congress of Trade Unions, Irish Business Employers Confederation and the Irish Insurance Federation- each of whom has a nominee on the NISO National Executive.

The organisation is membership based and currently has approximately 1800 members from all areas of industry and commerce in areas such as manufacturing, services, unions, semi-state bodies, local authorities and the health / education sectors. Membership of NISO is open to all organisations.

RoSPA - Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (www.rospa.co.uk)

Heartbeat Safety are also active members of RoSPA.

RoSPA is a charity, established over 80 years ago, whose purpose is "...to enhance the quality of life by exercising a powerful influence for accident prevention". It is concerned with safety in the home, on the road, at work, in water and leisure activities and actively promotes safety education. It is a membership organisation with members and specialist committees in these five areas. It exercises influence in accident prevention, both as a "promoter" of new ideas and good practice and as a "provider" of products and services which advance and sustain such practice.
